Momasphere members got together to screen Who Does She Think She Is? a documentary about the thorny balancing act between motherhood & artistic expression. Afterwards, three local creativity coaches (who happen to be moms too) led an intimate audience discussion about what it takes to be a mom who is pursuing her creative dreams. -
Cooking Class & Dinner With Executive Chef Mark Simmons
Momasphere was thrilled to offer an amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes at Melt & learn from a true master. New Zealand born & bred, celebrity "Top Chef" contender, Chef Mark Simmons shared his secrets for the perfectly braised lamb shank, delectable herbed polenta and exquisitely charred asparagus. All the moms learned how to prepare a high-end meal on a low-end budget. Wine was matched with the relaxed meal that followed the class. Everyone walked away with a great taste in their mouth, new cooking skills, recipes for all dishes made and served and a fun dinner with other awesome moms! -
Mommy Needs A Cocktail #2
Back by popular demand, Momasphere was thrilled to invite members to our second bi-annual Mommy Needs Cocktail evening at Melt, for some good laughs and an opportunity to mingle and network with a fabulous group of New York City moms of ALL ages. Comedians, spoken word artists & authors (all moms) shared their sometimes hilarious/ sometimes touching trials & tribulations of motherhood. -
Momasphere's Lunafest 2010
Momasphere hosted NYC's only 2010 Lunafest. The screening, talk-back with director Ela Thier and tabling room were filled to capacity. Great Q & A, massages, make-overs, food, goodie bags and raffles prizes! All for two great causes! -

Momasphere partnered with Park Slope Parents Career Networking for the first Brooklyn book launch and panel discussion of Sharon Lerner's The War on Moms: On Life in a Family-Unfriendly Nation. Panelists Sherry Leiwant, Anne Weisberg and Rachael Ellison added to a eye-opening discussion. -

Spa night and panel discussion to celebrate the Slope Suds salon’s new digs. Phenomenal group of women experts explore issues of beauty, inside and out, included a dermatologist, hair stylist, fitness expert, nutritionist and personal style consultant. Plus, fun interactive spa/health activities that including free table massages, skin mapping, hair consults, bang trims, and mini personal style & nutrition coaching sessions. -

Probing panel discussion & book reading that examines body image and motherhood. Joined by a panel of four seasoned experts in their fields, author Claire Mysko was able to turn to a fitness expert, sex educator, psychotherapist and journalist to delve a little deeper into some of the more pressing issues in the book -
Prospect Park West Book Party at Richard Meier On Prospect Park
The event showcased two Brooklyn icons in one exciting evening: a reading, signing and Q&A by Brooklyn mommy author Amy Sohn from her new book, Prospect Park West in the minimalist architectural masterpiece, Richard Meier On Prospect Park. The novel delves into the scandalous, sexy lives of four different mothers as each goes through a crisis adjusting to parenthood in the picturesque haven of Park Slope, Brooklyn. Event guests had an insider’s view of the newly-completed condominium residences at Richard Meier On Prospect Park which gracefully overlook the location of the book’s title, Prospect Park West, with spectacular cityscape, harbor and park views from the signature floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glass windows.. -
Mommy Needs a Cocktail @ Melt
Our very first event, a fun night out at the upscale Melt Restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Mom's enjoyed a free signature cocktail (or mocktail) hors d'oeuvres and great raffle prizes, while networking/mingling with other local moms. The event was moderated by Carolyn Castiglia, a really funny mom comedian who has been seen and heard nationally, performs stand-up all over New York, in both alternative venues and mainstream clubs.
