We had such great feedback from Momasphere's Lunafest Film Festival last spring that we decided to kick off this season with a screening and discussion as well. We've invited three Brooklyn-based creativity coaches- who also just happen to be moms- to facilitate an intimate conversation, after the screening, about some of the meaningful issues the film raises. ( We will supply tissues). The three coaches are Denise Laurin of Make a Living Creatively, Rahti Gorfien of Creative Calling Coaching and Joanna Lindenbaum of Soulful Coaching. We encourage you to invite creative mom friends who are not Momasphere members. We'd hate to see them miss out on such a great film and discussion!

WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?, a riveting documentary by Academy Award-winning producer Pamela Tanner Boll (Born Into Brothels), features five bold women who navigate some of the most problematic intersections of our time: parenting and creativity, partnering and independence, economics and art. Through their lives Tanner Boll explores what it means to nurture children and family, and keep the creative fire burning within.

The film considers an era when women were revered as cultural muses, and the modern era when most people are unable to name a handful of female artists. TO WATCH A TRAILER AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THE FILM CLICK HERE.

We are honored to present the first Brooklyn look at this fascinating book, a few short days after its release. Sharon Lerner's The War on Moms is battlefield reporting on the widespread, brutal realities facing most American women today: the lack of paid maternity leave, the dearth of decent part-time work options, and the shortage of good, affordable childcare options. We are honored to present our panel of experts whose knowledge and experience offer an added dimension to Sharon Lerner’s impeccable reporting and insight into the status of the American mother today:

April 18th, 2010 - Join us for a Live Video Event with Cathy Greenberg, PhD, Happiness Expert and author of What Happy Working Mothers Know!

You can click on the "Join Event" button on the image above or click on the following link and it will bring you directly to our program on Sunday, 4/18 at noon (EST): What Happy Working Mothers Know Video Event

  1. We strongly recommend that you register with Vokle before the event in order to get the full benefit of participation. This is a simple less than 5 minute procedure, so you may want to log on a few minutes before the call so you can easily join the call at noon.

  2. You also have the option to log on the day of the event with your Twitter Username and Password instead of registering to Vokle. If you don't log on with Twitter or register with Vokle right before the event, you will only be able to be a spectator and not a participant.

  3. You will enjoy the experience more with headphones. The simple earpieces that you use on your IPOD are perfect.

  4. So as not to tax the system, we will not be taking video questions on Sunday. We will limit our interaction with Cathy this time to text questions only, which we will share with the group as Cathy fields your questions.

We’re very excited to be working with Cathy and to be pioneering a new technology that allows for an interactive dialogue. As such, the internet connection with Cathy in Arizona might not be as smooth as if we were broadcasting locally, so we ask that you bear that in mind. Cathy, an international consultant and coach, has an incredible amount to share about building a foundation for happiness in our lives, and the immediacy of having Cathy answer our questions is quite thrilling.

Thanks again for joining us on this inaugural video event. We believe you will find Cathy engaging, enlightening and empowering!
